Sponsorship Guidelines

The Macquarie Generation Community Support Program (MGCSP) provides assistance in the following key focus areas:

Education
Acknowledging that education is a life-long process, the MGCSP will encourage academic achievement and initiatives designed to broaden educational opportunities for Upper Hunter residents.

Health
The MGCSP recognises the importance of good health and health care services to the social and economic wellbeing of the Upper Hunter and where possible, will support locally based initiatives that promote and achieve these objectives.

Recreation
The MGCSP recognises the community benefit arising from a broad range of recreational pursuits, and in particular, sporting and cultural activities. The Program will endeavour to support sporting and cultural organisations to assist participation and involvement by the widest cross-section of Upper Hunter residents.

The Program may consider support for semi-professional recreational activities with respect to the provision of prizes and/or trophies. The Program will not consider:

  • Support for professional sporting events or individuals or teams competing in them
  • Support for individuals or teams competing in organised activities or sport, seeking rather to support the parent body or organisation.

Environment
The MGCSP recognises that enhancement and maintenance of the natural and built environments in the Upper Hunter are positive contributions to community wellbeing and will endeavour to support community-based projects and initiatives seeking to achieve the same.

Community Events and Services
The MGCSP recognises that community interaction builds stronger communities. The MGCSP will endeavour to support projects and initiatives that seek to provide community facilities, services and events that seek to bring together communities in the interests of common and worthwhile causes.
